Celebrate La Plata Day 2022
On Saturday, April 30, 2022, the State’s Attorney’s Office was out in full force. The day was kicked off by supporting and participating in the CAP 5K fundraiser. The proceeds of this event go to help victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and others in crisis. The second half of the day was spent at the Celebrate La Plata Day community event. La Plata Day is an annual celebration of the rebuilding of La Plata after an F4 Tornado virtually devastated the town 20 years ago. The State’s Attorney’s Office is committed to spreading our Drive Sober initiative. We gave out free portable, reusable breathalyzers, ride-share gift cards and educated the community on the risks of impaired driving. See more here.
Read Across America Day 2022
In honor of National Read Across America Day on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, the State’s Attorney’s Office had the pleasure of donating children’s books to Center for Children, LifeStyles of Maryland, Inc., and some little libraries in the county. See more here.
