State’s Attorney Tony Covington speaking at the Crime Watch Kickoff at the La Plata American Legion on March 22, 2017.
“I was proud to speak at the Crime Watch Kickoff at the La Plata American Legion last night. The turnout was great and it reflected the collective resolve of our citizens to stamp out crime. It takes all law abiding citizens to prevent crime and bring those responsible for criminal acts to justice. The citizens that showed up last night certainly understand that. It was an honor to be able to acknowledge their efforts and to thank them for their dedication to safe communities. As I said last night, if a person cannot feel safe in their own community, they can never truly feel the freedom that America promises. Crime Watch organizations are a critical part to assuring true freedom for us all. If you aren’t involved with one, please consider it!”
