Drive Sober 2024

During the holiday season, and year-round, the State’s Attorney’s Office asks you to DRIVE SOBER. Your life, and the lives of others, depends on it.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, one person dies every 50 minutes as a result of drunk driving. New data shows 64.7% of crash victims tested positive for at least one active drug (including alcohol) from March 17 to July 18, 2020, compared to 50.8% before COVID-19 (September 10, 2019, to March 16, 2020).
The State’s Attorney’s Office for Charles County is committed to help reduce that number to zero.
The “Drive Sober” initiative will run during the holiday season (November 25, 2024 through January 1, 2025) – which is one of the deadliest times on the roadways due to drunk driving.

Information provided by NHTSA
